This is an easy science experiment that kids love because of the visual effects. Most of the ingredients you already have at home. It is great to spark a conversation about the hows/whys while also encourage creativity and promote independence. Great for all ages!

Milk
Food Coloring
Dish soap
Cotton Ball
Plate
INSTRUCTIONS
Pour milk into the plate.
Add drops of food coloring. Use as many colors as you can!
Wet the cotton ball with soap.
Drop it in the middle of the plate.
See the rainbow magic happen!

THE SCIENCE
Milk is made up of minerals, proteins, and fats. Proteins and fats are susceptible to changes. When the dish soap is added to the milk, those molecules run around and try to attach to the fat molecules in the milk.
